Helping my cousin Jimbo

Family shows you what is most important.

When I got married, I was so fortunate to marry into an incredible family. Coming from a small family, this was a huge deal for me! Now I had cousins and aunts and uncles all over the country.

One of my favorites is my cousin and good friend Jimbo. Jimbo became disabled at a young age due to injury, but that hasn't stopped him from living a wonderful life filled with love and excitement. I absolutely LOVE hanging out with Jimbo, and we have a great relationship going back many years.

As I started MakeGood, and then LaceAble, Jimbo became very helpful in trialing and providing feedback for various assistive devices. When I saw him over Thanksgiving one year, I was shocked to learn he had taken a fall due to his shoelaces becoming undone.

For most people, shoelaces are an annoyance, but for millions of people like Jimbo, they are a LEGITIMATE hazard.

I immediately installed LaceAble on his sneakers, and now he doesn't have to worry about tripping over his laces. He doesn't have the best dexterity, but the simple LaceAble devices are easy for him to use independently.

This is one of many stories about how LaceAble can be a gamechanger for those living with disability. It is the main reason this product exists, and it is my hope we can help as many people as possible with this innovative device.
